Loading the game and meeting your Birb

Once you load up our landing page (on Desktop) you will be greeted with the NFTamago where Birbz will start loading.

On mobile devices you’ll see the “Open Birbz” button which will take you to the full screen mobile WebGL version. You can also go there directly via this link https://mobile.birbz.pet

Once you’ve logged in, you will see the Mint/Selection interface. We also created a quick minter so you don’t have to wait for the game to load to mint. You can access the quick minter here https://mint.birbz.pet

Did you already think of a name for your new pet? You can see some of the crazy, cute and generally epic names Birb owners have already picked on OpenSea

Minting from the quick minter is the same as minting from within the game.

Hatching your Birb Egg

So you’ve minted a Birb Egg, congratulations! Now you can select it and once it loads you’ll see the big Hatch button, it really is hard to miss. Click on it to hatch and meet your new pet.

Hatching is an on-chain function so you’ll need to pay for the gas fees.

The User Interface

Major Stats

• Age — Your Birb will age with a year every 6 months regardless of what happens. In other words 1 human year = 2 Birb years. This is an on-chain event which cannot be modified
• Level & Experience — Experience is gained by taking care of your Birb [feeding it, playing with it, etc] and is then granted when you sync with the chain using the Chain Sync button. This is an on-chain event which cannot be modified.

Condition Stats

The stat bar displays your condition stats which are modified by the interaction buttons at the bottom. There are 6 condition stats.

• Hunger
• Happiness/Fun
• Energy
• Intellect
• Health
• Cleanliness

Your Birb is not feeling well, give it some medicine

The stat bars will generally deplete over time except for the Health bar. When the Health bar has a lower value it means that your Birb got sick. Your Birb will become sick less often as it ages.

You fill the stats by using the corresponding interaction button. If the button is locked you’ll have to take care of something else first.

For example if your Birb is too tired it will not want to play or study.

Interaction Buttons

Interaction buttons or pet actions are the primary way of interacting with your Birb.

When a button is locked it means your pet doesn’t want to do that or physically cannot. This feature will be updated in the newer version to be reflected on the pet via animations rather than with a simple lock icon

• Feed — Self explanatory
• Play — Your pet wouldn’t feel like playing if it’s too tired or sick for example
• Sleep — Your Birb sleeps in real time, right now it will need 10 hours of sleep to fill its energy bar. You can easily put it to sleep before you go to bed and see it full of energy in the morning! Timers are subject to change and will be adjusted in newer updates
• Study — Studying also happens in real time like sleep but it takes less time, currently 4 hours. Timers are subject to change and will be adjusted in newer updates
• Heal — You can currently only use the Heal action when your pet is not feeling well
• Wash — Self explanatory

There are and will be more hidden ways to interact with your Birb. Discover them by experimenting

Chain Sync Button

You should use the Chain Sync button just before closing the game. This will synchronize your pet state with the blockchain therefore saving your pet’s state.

If you don’t sync before exiting Birbz you may lose data. Think of the Chain Sync button being like a Save Game button but Web3 style
